With juggling our busy schedules, I could tell that Laverne Newton was truly on the go and about her business. We eventually caught each other at a reasonable time, and, of course, in between errands/chores/things to do.
Sisters With A Goal (S.W.A.G.) caught my attention on Facebook. It wasn't pushing that we network or even that we have a business, but encouraging that whatever one's goal that they move forward and pursue it. A group with over 3,000 people in it, it is filled with women joined together in the sisterhood of setting a goal.
In a world where we're used to having instant access, S.W.A.G., comes at a good time.
Sisters With A Goal started because she was a part of a lot of different groups and they were for entrepreneurs. "These groups were common, but not to support for everyday goals."
The Facebook group started about 10 months ago and now has a website along with promotional t-shirts. Laverne initially started the group online only, but it has since taken off and includes Twitter (@sisterwithagoal) and the website.
Laverne admits, "The group grew best with FB, then I started the site."
The broad mission can incorporate other networking groups and serves as a support base for those needing or seeking it. This Sister With A Goal is looking forward to having a S.W.A.G. Awards at some point in the future. "The ceremony will highlight those whom have goals and have accomplished those goals. In a perfect world this ceremony would take place at the end of 2012,"admits Laverne as she knows that the goal must also be accompanied by hard and diligent work.
If you're following @sisterwithagoal on Twitter you'll find that Laverne is well on her way to making the S.W.A.G. Awards goal a reality.
"It really is a void. Everyone doesn't want to own a business and it could be a personal goal."

We were excited to get in touch with Najen via her Skype line. With a busy schedule, she was on the go, but more than pleased to give us more insight in to her book, Jojoba Essence...
Pampered Book Club (PBC): What brought about this writing?
Najen: Jojoba Essence started as a writing of short stories of different women. As I continued through the book I allowed for it to take its own form.
PBC: Do you think that being "open minded" will turn some off if they are close minded?
