Inconspicuously located in the NW corridor of the nation’s capital is a literal palace of skate wears and lifestyle treasures. Its position on 14th St. was chosen specifically for its modesty to convey the core values of its clientele’s community. Palace5ive is the chalice of Greg Gremman, created out of an old Dollar Store and fried chicken eatery. It now hosts some the holiest of Nike SB grails and quick strikes.

Leo Breckenridge grew up in the projects of Norfolk, Va. where he endured constant custody battles between his crack-addicted mother and manic-depressive father. Yet he found inspiration at a Christian summer camp at the age of 12 that changed his life forever. Through his new relationship with God and inner drive to succeed, Leo has overcome his tumultuous childhood to become an executive producer, host, model, and actor--working with individuals like Tony Award winner Hinton Battle. The 24 year-old Leo speaks with Swaggakings to discuss his past, present, God, and living life in ‘The Light’.

Finding the next go-getter was a no brainer. I already knew who I wanted to feature, but he didn’t know he was going to be featured and he still don’t know, because I want it to be a surprise. I am actually kind of selfish, because I want to be there, in person, to see his face when he reads he is Swagga Kings’ next Go Getter. And the powerful young MC definitely deserves it, and more.

You are an inspiration. You offer hope to those of us who had given up hope on our dreams. The more you succeed, the more we all succeed and can believe again—
Jerry Sanford. A fan.
The world has seen authors come and go. Enigmatic writers who have pushed the envelope and opened the door for up and coming authors to continue the tradition. To inspire the aspired. James Baldwin was certainly a pioneer.
Because of him an unknown writer by the name of E. Lynn Harris came along, wrote a book called An Invisible Life, about men being with men and somewhere between TEN New York Times Bestsellers and millions of books sold later, JL King came along and wrote a book called On the Down Low that wound him up on Oprah’s couch. But somewhere in Naranja, Florida, there was a young man who sent query letter after query letter to publishers to take a look at the King of Erotica Book 1.
