When this reviewer sees a book that is written by an author about a subject that is not of their usual topics or themes, I get a little nervous. For this reviewer it is often very peaceful and entertaining to scan bookshelves at a local coffee shop to find little treasures and stories that are waiting for us. During one of these trips, this month’s novel was found. An author that had not been read for quite some time was sitting there waiting to be purchased. That novel was “Death Benefit” by Robin Cook. This novel had been released as a hardcover in December 2011 by G. P. Putman’s Son and as a soft cover by Berkley in August, 2012.
