For this review, the world of children’s literature is explore and introduced to us through the eyes of Kaleela Thompson in “Oh Where, Oh Where Is My Swallowtail”. “This children’s mystery was published by Eggleston Publishing in 2010.
“Oh Where, Oh Where Is My Swallowtail” is the tale of the missing swallowtail butterfly, a treasured pet of Kaleela. We watch Kaleela search high and low all around her back and front yard for her missing pet.
This is the perfect book for getting your children to read out loud to you and learn simple, basic words while moving along in this mystery. The illustrations are so simply put to the words given to us by Trevor Lewis. The combination of the words and drawings will do nothing but help your children put in their minds the backyard findings and where Kaleela is looking for her butterfly.
The bonus’ with this book package include a CD of the story so your child may here how the words are pronounce as well as a bookmark that has a list of words on it that your child is suppose to find all through this adventure.
This reviewer highly recommends this book for that night time reading with your children and is the perfect education for your child. The author herself is a very young adult so who are we to dispute how perfect this is.
