Response to the spirit from a sideline hoe...

blog 2

Dear Spirit,

After reading your letter, I was so moved, I cried until my head hurt because I know the truth. I understand all that you have said. It all makes sense…but it just feels so good when I am with him. Why can’t you see that? Don’t you feel it when he holds me? It is warm and I feel complete. WE feel complete! He told me that he loves me and I believe him. I know that his situation is not the most ideal for us, but what are our other options?

Forgiveness

 rose pic

It’s a New Year!  Yet, Valentine’s Day is around the corner and love is lurking around every corner with a chubby cherub pointing an arrow at you.  In my previous blog post, “The Power of Forgiveness”, I wrote about forgiving and letting go. It can be especially difficult during holiday times like Thanksgiving, Christmas and defiantly the “Big Love Day.” If you’re single, Valentine’s Day can put you in a place of bitterness and you’ll want to have an, “I hate Valentine’s Day” party.  I can almost guarantee that as you read my previous blog post, you may have said aloud to yourself, “I’ll forgive, but I ain’t forgetting!” Or maybe you muttered, “I know I need to forgive, but I don’t know how.”  You may have also said, “I forgave, but how can I let go and move forward?” The list of thought provoking questions could go on. And, believe it or not, I’ve asked myself the same questions, and then some. I’m not going to say that I have all the answers, but I do have some insightful thoughts I’d like to share with you.

Letter from the spirit of a sideline hoe...

sideline

Dear Sideline hoe,

Hello again. It's me...your spirit.  You know, the one who connects your heart, your soul and your emotions. The one who feels every struggle that you endure.  The one who believes in you when no one else will.  I feel as though I am very important in your life so I had a meeting with your heart, your soul and your emotions because we are concerned about you.  They asked me to speak to you about your behaviour because we need to understand your motive.

The Power of Forgiveness

letting go

Forgive- is defined as to grant pardon for or remission of (an offense, debt, etc.), to cease to feel resentment against, or to give up all claim on account of; remit (a debt, obligation, etc). This is a powerful 7 letter word and so is let-it-go.  This is for all women: whether curvy or straight sized.  At some point and time in our life we have all been hurt, hurt someone, been heartbroken, or have broken someone’s heart.  We all have a story, and we all have a past.  However, can’t let our past control us.  If we keep looking behind us, how can we move forward?  Think of it as driving a car… If we keep looking in the rear view mirror we’re going to continuously keep going in reverse.  What I want you to do is shift your gear into drive and press on the brake and leave whatever is holding you back behind you. Let-it-go!  If you don’t let it go the un-forgiveness will turn to bitterness and life is too short to live being bitter, cold, and callous.  Remember forgiveness doesn’t mean to forget. Forgiveness means moving forward and once you do, don’t go back.  I want to leave you with these words, “when something bad happens you have three choices: you can either let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let it strengthen you.”

This Is More Than A Job

J Alex_6

The blog writing process has been a lot of fun, but it’s time for me to move on and add new items to my portfolio. There is little that is as fulfilling to me as freestyle writing; but everything comes to an end or it evolves into a greater experience and that is what writing always does for me. I’ve decided to give my last blog of this year a twist. Although my own thoughts are obviously what I convey, I’ve decided to go back to the topic of passion. I recently interviewed two young men that are very passionate about what they do and why they do it. They both are perfect examples of why none of us should stay in careers that aren’t fulfilling. If you’re not enjoying your life’s passion through your everyday gig, then truly you are only working to survive…and simply put, “you are not living”!

Let's Talk About Where Swagger Originated...

James-Brown 1973

I had intended to post something a little more elaborate for my final October blog; my belief is, if it’s not complete and up to standards than hold off until it is. The wonderful world of blogging truly does reveal who a person is, I always celebrate writing. It cleanses, reinvigorates and clears the conscience. It’s my drug of choice.

Writings on the Stall...A Love affair with Words

I couldn’t muster up the confidence to go back to my sixth period PE claHopess.
What was once a social gathering for the popular kids, was now a never-ending catfight that always ended with me being emotionally ripped to shreds. I felt so stupid at times because I was afraid to speak up for myself, in fear that I would have to make a habit of it.
Seemed as if I was teased for everything, my shoes, my clothes, my hair, and my weight.
I had now come to realize that in their eyes, I would never be good enough...

The working of your Faith

Faith without works is dead...In the Bible it talks about the working of your faith...all you need is faith the size of a mustard seed...

also faith is not always a form of movement, action it's a belief within your inner soul...one must believe first before you receive...

Faith also is way to allow self to die slowely, sometimes working your faith is by being still and getting out of Gods way, being still make you move in your faith because you are saying to God I believe no matter what..(faith) kicks in...

so let go let God and get out of His way he really don't need our help...

News From DA CHI -Young Mom Kills 3-Month-Old Son, Takes Him Shopping Afterwards

MARKHAM, Ill. – After beating and suffocating her baby to make the boy stop crying Wednesday night(June 2011), a south suburban woman walked around with the dead infant in a BabyBjorn for several hours the next day, prosecutors claim.

Ken Blackman Jr., 3 months, of Calumet City, was pronounced dead at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

An autopsy showed the infant, whose death was a homicide by suffocation, had been dead for up to 14 hours prior to that time, prosecutors said at a bond hearing for Ken’s mother Monday at the Markham courthouse.

Judge Darron Bowden ordered Toyrianna Smith, 20, of 534 Luella Ave. in Calumet City, held on $1 million bond Monday, according to Cook County State’s Attorney’s office spokesman Andy Conklin. She is charged with first-degree murder.

According to prosecutors, Smith took her 3-year-old daughter and the baby with her to a friend’s home at 14923 Washtenaw Ave. in Harvey on Wednesday night, where she did her hair, hung out with friends and drank vodka.
