Singer Tara Moore claims victory in her single "Destiny"

The soul singer Al Green once said, “"All I can say is that there's a sweetness here, a Southern sweetness, that makes sweet music. . . . If I had to tell somebody who had never been to the South, who had never heard of soul music, what it was, I'd just have to tell him that it's music from the heart, from the pulse, from the innermost feeling. That's my soul; that's how I sing. And that's the South."

Singer Tara Moore, a newcomer to the music scene, accurately represents what it means to sing with true soul. Her new single “Destiny” speaks about finding victory over an abusive relationship. The lyrics themselves follow a woman through the life of an abusive relationship and gently builds into an inspirational mantra that survivors of domestic violence can quote, “Its my destiny/I've got the victory”. Tara's soft alto voice draws you into her pain while also healing the broken spirit. The single itself came about when evangelist Sharon Scott, a close friend of Tara's, penned the lyrics for a Women conference on August 8 of this year titled “Bruised but not Broken”.

A survivor of two abusive marriages, Tara has made it her mission to educate women on taking domestic violence seriously and discovering their true value. “The daily reports I see on domestic violence burdens me . It really hurts when I hear of it or see it and....I can relate and it awakens something in me. God has put the mission in me to let women know to take [domestic violence] seriously or you can end up dead...the women are my biggest influence...we help each other understand that we made it, that God set us free and [now] we can make something good out of a bad situation.”

That is exactly what Tara has done. Currently happily married, Tara draws on memories of her painful past to sing encouragement to women in bad situations to seek help and learn to love themselves. “Women weren't born to be beaten on or bruised or battered. They're a queen in God's eyes. He chose us to have life to be born out of us. We are destined for life, we are the purpose of living. That's how special we are.”

Although she has been singing since the age of 13 in church choirs and just for fun, Tara has only recently decided to pursue it as a career and to promote herself outside of Florida. Lately, she spends much of the time in the studio working on four new songs she intends to add to her website and soon an album if talks with production labels are successful.
