Monroe Black, was born April 27th in Chester, Pennsylvania. Black is the oldest of eight siblings. At the age of 7, Black and her following younger sister were exposed to lead poisoning. Black recovered well, but her sister still suffers with an IEP. When she was 12 years old she found out that her dad was not her biological father and that her real father was someone else. Despite this life-changing event, she was a happy girl. Modeling wasn't an instinctive goal to Black. As she became more mature and learned her sexuality, she became interested in becoming a public icon. Because of her family’s low finances, it was hard for Black to become involved in fashion shows and other fashion events. Being raised by her single mother with 7 other children, money didn't come easy. Recently a graduate of Chester High School, Black will be attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, where she will major in Criminal Justice. Black wants to be known as more than a model but a role model to other women and younger girls who have big dreams. She sees a focused mind as a successful mind, and that’s how Black ended up where she is today. An SK Model.

SK: Do you go by your real name or a stage name?
SK Model: Stage Name
SK: Oh, what is it?
SK Model: Monroe Black
SK: So why not use a stage or real name?
Monroe Black: I love my name, but I love Marilyn Monroe Black and she was one of the
models that inspired me the most.
SK: Where did you attend school?
Monroe Black: I attend Chester High School in Chester, Pa. as of now. I will
be graduating June 11th 2010. From there, I will be attending the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in which I will be majoring in Criminal Justice.
SK: You are a SK model, what do you think about that?
Monroe Black: I’m happy about that! Modeling is my passion and I take it very
seriously.
SK: Define your swagga?
Monroe Black: I am a laid back type of woman who likes to have fun. My swagga
is sophisticated and complex but also flexible in anything I am doing. I want to be seen as a young lady that strives for the best in life. So my swagga can be described as mostly determined.
SK: How long have you been modeling?
Monroe Black: I started modeling when I was 17 years old, which is when I had my first
shoot. The shoot was armature, but they were steps to my success.
SK: How did you get in to modeling?
Monroe Black: It all started with America's Next Top Model. I saw myself as
one of those girls in the future. From there I started taking my steps.
SK: Many people are looking up to you, so who is your role model and why?
Monroe Black: Marilyn Monroe Black is my role model. Despite her negativity in her
career, she was a strong enough woman to keep her head up & pursue her
career. She had the determination & confidence that every woman should have.
SK: Other than modeling, do you have another job or career?
Monroe Black: I do not have a job, but I will be going to school to be a lawyer.
SK: What are some of the things you have done in the legal field?
Monroe Black: From the things that I have done in the field like Youth Court, Mock Trial & Moot Court, I love it.
SK: People will call you sexy, or even fine, is being fine a gift or a curse (explain)?
Monroe Black: Life is what you make it. If someone calls me sexy or fine I
see it as a gift. A person does not have to strip to be sexy. Confidence is
what makes a woman sexy, her attitude & determination is what makes her
fine.
SK: What have you been complimented on the most?
Monroe Black: I have been complimented a lot on my attitude and my ability to
adjust in any situation.
SK: What do you think your best feature is?
Monroe Black: My best feature is my body. I lack much of a bust, but I still
have a nice figure.
SK: Do you feel this is being over looked?
Monroe Black: Not at all.
SK: What’s your favorite color?
Monroe Black: My favorite color is Black, that color has so much beauty.
SK: If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Monroe Black: I would want control over time. I do not regret the decisions
that I have made in my past; however, I would like to analyze some of those
decisions and learn from them so I can make better decisions for my future.
SK: What’s the one thing someone can do to really get under your skin?
Monroe Black: When someone puts me in a situation that I am uncomfortable
with, it gets under my skin. I make my limits known and when
someone disregards them it means there is no respect for me.
SK: Are you single?
Monroe Black: I am currently single, but I am also dating.
SK: If you stepped to someone, what’s a deal breaker that could
cause you not to get in to a relationship with him?
Monroe Black: The deal breaker for me is if the man I am interested in hits
women –that’s a turn off from the jump-start.
SK: Do you have any celebrity crushes?
Monroe Black: Yes.
SK: Now girl you know you have to tell it :O)
Monroe Black: Trey Songz is the best man to every enter the music industry. He
has sex appeal and vocals and a body that most men die for.
SK: OHHHH that body. Can we get a fan in here? Ha ha ha, What do you find is swagga in the opposite sex?
Monroe Black: The way a man presents himself is his swagga. When he is fresh,
nice teeth, nice body & respectful-that’s the swagga I like.
SK: If you had one thing to tell the world, what would be your message?
Monroe Black: A focused mind is a successful mind. See me as more than a model,
but as an inspiration for other woman and young girls.
